Going crazy waiting for some news on Battlefield 1? Electronic Arts just posted a seriously exciting blog entry over at Battlefield.com. There are several key announcements in the post:
1-We are going to get a brand new trailer next week.
2-We are going to have a chance to see more live game play.
3-We will get to check out a brand new map.
EA didn’t say much about the trailer, but did indicate that it will provide us with “a trainload of new information about Battlefield 1. In case you’re wondering, yes, ‘trainload’ is a tease.”
So a railway will definitely play a key role in the trailer. As the rails were very important in WWI, this doesn’t come as a surprise. We did catch a glimpse of a train in one of the previous trailers as well. There are so many directions EA could go with a mission involving a train, so it will be very exciting to see what they decide to do.
Coming around to the new map, that is something we will see featured in the Battlefield Squads livestream which is scheduled for August 16th at Gamescom.
Here is a screenshot of the new map posted by Westie, one of the players who will be participating in the event:

As you can see, we are looking at a desert setting with some ruins. EA has stated the map will include “points to capture, horses to ride, and things to demolish.”
Be sure to tune into the Battlefield Squads Gamescom livestream on August 16th at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET to check out the new map live. And don’t worry—if you miss it, you can check back here to catch up on all the action!
