Promising PS4 Games of July 2017

Now that it’s summer, it’s time to relax a bit and enjoy some new games on your PS4. There is not a huge list of exciting forthcoming games for July 2017, but it is far from a shortage. Let’s check it out.

That’s You (PS4 Exclusive)
Publisher: Sony
Release Date: July 4

That’s You will be the first in a series of games called the PlayLine link. These titles work using your smartphones, so you do not need DualShock 4 controllers for them. That’s You is a quiz game, designed for parties and the like. For PlayStation Plus members, the game is free.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age (PS4 Exclusive)
Publisher: Square Enix
Release Date: July 11

When the original Final Fantasy XII released, it divided players. A lot of gamers loved it for its massive world, innovative combat system, and its fascinating story, but many others failed to get into it. Now the remaster is on its way. For those who loved the original, with its enhanced graphics and new job system, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age should be an incredible experience.

Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles (PS4 Exclusive)
Publisher: Prideful Sloth
Release Date: July 18

Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles seems almost like an amalgam of influences from Animal Crossing, Zelda and Harvest Moon. It’s a laid-back open world game offering a ton of things to do: explore, befriend animals, go on quests, craft, fish, and more.

Fallen Legion (PS4, Vita Exclusive)
Publisher: YummyYummyTummy
Release Date: July 25

This RPG features branching storylines, combo attack systems, and beautiful hand-drawn artwork that should set it apart from other games in the classic RPG category.

Publisher: Epic Games
Release Date: July 25

Gamers have been hearing about Fortnite for ages now, with a lot of starts and stops in its development. Now it is finally coming out. During the daytime, you search for resources, and use them to construct a shelter. At night, monsters assail your fortification and you attempt to survive using the melee weapons and guns you’ve gathered. You can even play in a co-op mode with your friends.

Pyre (PS4 Exclusive)
Publisher: Supergiant Games
Release Date: July 25

This title comes from the developers that brought us Transistor and Bastion. Like Fallen Legion, it features beautiful artwork, intriguing branching storylines, and consequence-based game-play.

So while July doesn’t feature quite as many hotly anticipated titles as June, it is shaping up to be quite a month for gamers on PS4! Any one of these games should provide you with many hours of summer fun.
