PSN Accounts Banned Through the PayPal Chargeback Bug Being Reinstated

Yesterday in the UK, a large number of PSN users found themselves with a major hassle on their hands. A glitch was resulting in negative account balances, followed by the affected accounts getting banned through Sony’s auto-banning system which responds to PlayStation Store purchase chargebacks.

Thankfully Sony is well aware of the issue and is working around the clock to get it fixed. In fact, the company is actively reversing the bans on the accounts in question as we speak. Some accounts have already been completely restored. If however you haven’t been affected by the bug, right now it is a smart idea to make your purchases using pre-paid PSN cards, which should prevent you from becoming the next victim. We will update you when Sony has the issue fixed for once and for all.
